Hello,
Memorial Day Weekend coming up and I have no plans. With the hectic schedule I've had recently, I'm looking forward to some time by myself, doing only things that make me happy! Well, maybe if the weather is nice, I'll wash windows and clean my car. :)
It hasn't rained in TWO WHOLE DAYS! Yesterday, it was sunny most of the day, then became overcast and windy...but no rain. Today it's been mostly cloudy so far. I have hopes that the sun will peek out this afternoon.
I have been overwhelmed with email for over a week now. I don't have time to sit for an hour at a stretch reading it, but I feel like I may miss something if I delete any of it unread. I have at least a dozen read emails with flags that need replies and about 50 unread. Maybe I'll have to add cleaning out my email files to the list of things to do this weekend...the one I had no plans for about 30 seconds ago.
I finished a journal workshop at the college last week and have a new one starting at the hospital tomorrow night. I've been paid by the Hospital Aid Association for my jewelry sale, most of the folks taking the new workshop have paid me and my check from the college is due to arrive next week. Feeling the abundance now. Those "abundance checks" that I've written on the new moon every month seem to be working pretty well. I've had to work for the money that's been coming in, but that's okay...I don't play the lottery so I don't expect to win it. :) (Although, I've been told twice by a psychic...about 3 yrs apart....that I was going to "come into" some money. Hasn't happened yet and if it's someone's life insurance, I'll go without, thank you.
My friend, Karen, (Hi, Karen!) who moved to Florida about a year ago, was in MA for a visit. We hooked up (in a large group) at Abigail's last night to catch up. She must have emailed everyone she worked with, and all of her friends. Had a good time. Met some new people who were very nice. Karen has been hiding a man from us! :) Frank seems like a great guy and Karen appears to be very happy.
Linda came with me and it's a good thing! She paid for my dinner because I had no cash. I'm ALWAYS getting caught w/o cash on me. Too dependent on my debit card. But, I remembered to reimburse her this morning, so I feel better now.
Thursday night some of my friends are coming over to make earrings. I think about 6 or 7 people are coming, but I'm not sure. I'm looking forward to hanging out with them for a few hours. It'll be fun. I have more than enough beads to share. I bought some new wires and posts, which are due to be delivered tomorrow. Talk about cutting it close!
Oh! Speaking of cutting it close. I forgot to order the workbooks for my new journal class! I sent an ALL CAPS, HIGHLY EXCLAMATED email to the office that I order from, and left a message on their voicemail. I received a phone call from Linda saying she was getting them right in the mail to me. It cost me over $25 to have them shipped overnight. Let that be a lesson, huh? Sigh...
Carol's sister, Debbie, stopped me in the hallway this morning and asked me how I learned how to make bracelets and necklaces. I told her I bought a book. She said that she'd been bead shopping with a friend who'd offered to help her make some jewelry. She now has about $600 worth of beads and her friend hasn't been around to help. There's a long, convoluted story about it, but she asked me to help her out, so I said yes. She's supposed to email me with some possible dates to get together. I just want to see her beads!!! :)
I got a surprise package in the mail yesterday from my son! It contained 3 nice, handmade soaps that he picked up somewhere. They are called Arizona Autumn, Sunflower and Karma. There were also 2 Mother's Day cards. Thanks, Den!
Carol, Beth and I spent the weekend at Beth's camp in Warwick, MA. It was to be our book club weekend getaway, but Kay L never made it. She called me Friday afternoon and said she was getting a migraine and would try to meet up with us on Saturday.
We had a great time, though. Lots of talking and cooking and eating and cleaning up. It was rainy all weekend, so we had the fireplace going non-stop, which was wonderful! I prefer that over hot, humid weather any day! We actually had a big hail storm on Sunday afternoon. It was wild watching the thunder/lightening/hail coming down over the pond. But we were all cozy in the cabin. I didn't want to go home. I never want to leave when I've been there. It's the cutest little place...perfect for one person, comfortable enough for a couple but doesn't leave much room for "alone time". I would kill to live there full time. I love it!
Okay, my lunch is gone so it must be time to get back to work.
Take care,
Kay
