Hi,
I have been dancing around the fact that I need to write an essay for my memoir group most of the day now. It's like having to go to the bathroom and telling yourself you'll go in a minute. You can almost forget about it for a minute, but sooner than later, it gets really uncomfortable.
I can't think of a topic, which is 90% of my problem. I thought I might write about the City Hall dances, but I don't know if I can stretch that into enough words. Then I thought I'd write about going out on the weekends in my 30's and the local clubs we used to visit...the bands, the friends, and so forth. That all came about after listening to Tammy talk about the fun she had last night with her high school friends at a pub downtown where my brother's band was playing. I miss the days of dancing and hanging out with "the crowd". Most of us are grandparents now. Where does the time go and why does it go so fast?
I did the usual weekend stuff of mopping, wiping, vacuuming, laundry and so forth. Yesterday, I went to a friend's house for a luncheon so that her niece could advertise (and recruit for) her new business. I've been to these "parties" before and although the products are great, you have to sign a contract to buy so many "points" per month worth of goods and blah blah blah. It's a multi-level marketing company that I have no interest in joining. If I decide to buy anything (they are pricey), I will ask my friend to put it on her order. That way she'll maintain her monthly quota and I don't have to sign anything.
Today, I was planning to write my essay, make a pot of chili and review my memoir workshop material. Instead, Tammy and I went out for lunch at the Gardner Ale House and then to see New In Town at the movies. Total chick flick, but Harry Connick Jr was his yummy self, so it was all good.
Carol was supposed to meet me at Jumpin' Juice & Java around 6:30 because I wanted her input on the memoir workshop. She took it a few months ago, and I wanted to get some feedback about what works and what could be tweaked. I called her cell phone around 5:45 to tell her that I was just going to head there now and could tell that she was still at her granddaughter's b-day party (about an hr away). She said they'd just eaten and that there were a bunch of cars blocking her, but that she'd try to get away within a half hr. I told her to just stay with her family and we'd do it another time. The workshop starts on 2/25. The only issue we have with rescheduling is the gym. We both go but at different times/days mostly and I have plans next weekend. OH! We have next Monday off...maybe we can do it that afternoon.
How many of you who watch Grey's Anatomy are convinced that the blonde resident mixed up the blood samples of Izzy and that patient and that Izzy does indeedy have cancer? I'm guessing brain tumor since she's been seeing her dead boyfriend all over the place all season. I think they are writing Heigl off the show. And WTF with the writers and Ellen Pompeo's character, Meredith? Could they make her any more awful? If I were her, I'd be writing my own scripts.
The music on my iPod rocks! Of course, if you are under 40 you probably wouldn't think so. Haha.
Okay, I can't avoid it another minute. I need to write something for tomorrow night.
Peace,
Kay
Hi Kay,
I am longing for another installment. L
